Series: 1 Samuel: The Sovereign King: Worthless Sons

1 Samuel 2: 1-11

After the Israelites entered the land God promised them and began to take control of that land, the Bible repeatedly says, "There was no king in Israel and everyone did what was right in their eyes." Not only was there no physical king over all of Israel, more importantly Israel had forgotten that her king was God himself. How true that is in our day as well, everyone does what is right in their own eyes. Truth was become relative. What is true for you might not be true for me. Nothing could be further from the biblical truth. 1 Samuel is the story of God's establishment of the throne of David. A kingship which pointed to the ultimate sovereign who would reign on that throne, God himself in the person of Jesus Christ. Who reigns in your life? Let's join together and worship the Sovereign King.

Series: The Suffering Servant Songs: The Pierced Servant

Isaiah 52:13-53:12

The story of Jesus did not begin with the angel's announcement to Mary that she would have a child or even with the baby in a manger in Bethlehem. The story of Jesus and who he would be began in eternity past. Even hundreds of years before his birth the prophet Isaiah wrote about who he would be. By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit Isaiah was given insight into who the messiah would be and what he would be like and what he would do. The Suffering Servant Psalms in the book of Isaiah are further proof that God was unfolding the beautiful plan of the gospel long before it became reality. Join us as we discover the true identity of the suffering servant.

Series: Farewell Words: Jesus Prays for Oak Crest

John 17:20-26

All four of the gospels are beautiful accounts of the life, death and resurrection of our savior Jesus, but John is unlike the others. John's gospel dives deep into into the person of Christ. We are given an intimate look at the deep thoughts and motivations of the God-man. Within the larger book is an even deeper look into the heart of Jesus as he shares with his disciples on the night before his crucifixion. Chapter 13-17 record what we have come to know as the Upper Room Discourse. In these five chapters we see intimate teaching about service, love, the Holy Spirit, Heaven, our union with Christ, and prayer. Let's explore these divine words together.
