Series: 1 Samuel: The Sovereign King: Head and Shoulders Above the Rest

1 Samuel 9: 1-27

After the Israelite entered the land God promised them and began to take control of that land, the Bible repeatedly says, "There was no king in Israel and everyone did what was right in their eyes." Not only was there no physical king over all of Israel, more importantly Israel had forgotten that her king was God himself. How true that is in our day as well, everyone does what is right in their own eyes. Truth was become relative. What is true for you might not be true for me. Nothing could be further from the biblical truth. 1 Samuel is the story of God's establishment of the throne of David. A kingship which pointed to the ultimate sovereign who would reign on that throne, God himself in the person of Jesus Christ. Who reigns in your life? Let's join together and worship the Sovereign King.
